Exhibition “Professions – the Way to the Future” works from October 4 till December 8, 2019.
Artificial intelligence, automation and robotization make many human skills and competencies irrelevant. Experts believe that in twenty years fifty professions will disappear, but more than 200 new ones will appear.
On their canvases Valentin Chekmasov, Konstantin Butorov, Ekaterina Pekhova, Alexander Kozlov, Georgy Stronk present professions of the past that have already disappeared from our lives, and modern professions that will transform in the present-day world and will look completely different in the future. Young artists Katerina Voronina and Yana Bolotenkova show the professions of the future. The line of linocuts “Info Heads” by Arkady Morozov reflect the specifics of the modern world riddled with information. The materials from the Atlas of New Professions website will help to understand a kaleidoscope of specialties that will be in demand soon.
The exhibition features works by artists from the collections of the museum and from artists’ workshops, items from the private collection of Vitaly Brusnikin.
In the interactive section of the exhibition you can try the robot presented by Petrozavodsk State University in action, take part in an environmental campaign, get acquainted with the Atlas of New Professions.
