The unique exhibition project “Steppe Story” of the famous Buryat artist Zorikto Dorzhiev opened on September, 20 in the Museum of Fine arts.
The exhibition shows more than 40 paintings from different years by the artist: some completely new canvases, including “#reloadingdreams”, “Labyrinth”, as well as works that became the brand like “Mona Lisa-Khatun”. In all the works our guests can see traditional Buryat motifs and myths seen through the eyes of a modern man of the 21st century. Nomads of the Great Steppe, warriors, heroes, oriental women are Dorzhiev’s favorite subjects. The artist’s works are very interesting in the pictorial plan: he mostly paints in oils, but also often uses mixed media, adding gold foil and acrylic paints.
The artist’s graphic sheets are executed with virtuosic skill, the silhouettes of the female heroes of Dorzhiev are exquisitely stretched, and the realities of clothes, weapons, jewelry are sculptured. Sculptures of the artist “Madame”, “Sunday” and others will certainly make a great impression on visitors, allowing to talk about his extraordinary versatility. Zorikto Dorzhiev has already achieved a lot and continues to create brightly and artistically.
