Exhibition “Professions – the Way to the Future” works from october 4 till December 8, 2019.
Artificial intelligence, automation and robotization make many human skills and competencies irrelevant. Experts believe that in twenty years fifty professions will disappear, but more than 200 new ones will appear.
The Museum of Fine Arts of Karelia with the help of professional expert – artists – offers to figure out how to choose a profession in the modern world that will be in demand in the future.
On their canvases, Valentin Chekmasov, Konstantin Butorov, Ekaterina Pekhova, Alexander Kozlov, Georgy Stronk present professions of the past that have already disappeared from our lives, and modern professions that will transform in the present-day world and will look completely different in the future. Young artists Katerina Voronina and Yana Bolotenkova show the professions of the future. The line of linocuts “Info Heads” by Arkady Morozov reflect the specifics of the modern world riddled with information. The materials from the Atlas of New Professions website will help to understand a kaleidoscope of specialties that will be in demand soon.
The world around us is changing rapidly, and it requires the development of a new living space. In the works of artists appears our urban and industrial world of the twentieth century, the inheritance of which is the modern environmental situation and the need for new professions in the future.
Drawings by Mikhail Tsybasov take us to faraway space where fantastic worlds become reality, people master outer space and new professions related to space appear.
The exhibition will feature works by artists from the collections of the museum and from artists’ workshops, items from the private collection of Vitaly Brusnikin.
