The Museum of Fine Arts continues to acquaint the visitors with Karelia’s artists and invites to the personal exhibition of Yuri Trofimov “Colors of time”!
For a long time the artist has successfully combined creation and pedagogical activity: he taught in the graphic arts department of the Petrozavodsk Pedagogical school №2; he worked as the director of the Petrozavodsk Children’s Artistic School. There are many famous artists among his students: Arkadi Morozov, Borris Kykshiev, Valeri Hazov, Eugenia Veselova, Olga Ikkonen and others. This year the maestro turns 80!
Yuri Vasilevich is a participant in creative exhibitions of artists both in the Republic of Karelia and abroad, an Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Karelia (1990), and a member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia (2002). Today the works by Yu.Trofimov are found in the collections of many Russian and foreign museums.
The aim of the exhibition is to present the creative work of the artist from different points of view, and to work out a new look at his place in the modern art world. The artist works on different genres: still life, portrait, and genre composition. The artist creates his works in realistic, abstract and surreal styles.
