From 3, June till 9, June in Manege, Moscow there was the 16th International festival “Intermuseum-2014”. For the first time it was held in 1999. Nowadays this event is the main one in the Russian Museum calendar. It is the unique cultural space, which attracts constantly both the attention of the wide circle of visitors and professionals. During many years of its` existence, “Intermuseum” has been serving for the aims of the Russian museums` professional development. It creates the conception of traditions and new tendencies, practices and technologies at modern museum’s work.
The motto of the festival this year was “Museum in the digital age – museum in the information space.” The organizers of the event are the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the State Museum and Exhibition Centre “ROSIZO”. The Government of Moscow also supported the festival.
The stand of Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Karelia was also presented at the festival. It contained a demo banner, two interactive dashboards and internet tablet. The visitors of the stand had a great opportunity to see and try to work with the demonstration materials. In the context of “Intermuseum-2014” there were presented the following projects: “Multipolotence or kaspaikka” (with the interactive element – stamping on the napkins) and “33 St.Nikolas from Kholmogory to Kola”, which had been created over the past years. Also the creation of two projects will be completed within this year. They are “Virtual Encyclopedia of Artists of Karelia” and “Museum in the pocket”. They were presented at the festival for the first time.
The Delegation of the Museum, consisting of 5 employees took an active part in the business program of the festival, attended lectures of the other museums, including foreign, seminars and discussion forums on the themes of development and promotion of the museum’s brand in social networks, their project activity in Russia, museums educational fields` informatization, design of the museum environment, in terms of access for the people with disabilities and other topics.
There were presented 207 museums from Russia and other countries at the festival altogether.
