The exhibition “A magnificent porcelain of the last epochs” represents the collections of porcelain and faience from the city’s of Petrozavodsk great museums: The Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Karelia and National Museum of the Republic of Karelia. The partner of the exhibition is the antique salon “Unique art”.
The visitors of the Museum have the opportunity to get acquainted with the china-ware of the bygone eras from different countries: Germany, France, Denmark, England, Russia, China and others. More than 100 subjects made of porcelain and faience in the exposition supplement paintings and graphics of the Russian and west-european masters of the 18th – 19th centuries from the Museum`s of Fine Arts of the Republic of Karelia collection. The Museum shows to its` visitors the unique collection of the ceramic beer mugs from Germany and claret-jugs of the 16th – the beginning of 18th centuries for the first time.
In the exposition every viewer (it doesn’t matter if it is a child or an adult) can feel like an expert, because the exhibition is accompanied with the detailed text materials, telling about the creation of porcelain and its` distinctive features in China (the homeland of porcelain), Western Europe and Russia. Also banners with the images of cities, where the enterprises, producing, in the exhibition, represented porcelain items; portraits of the porcelain’s creators and representatives of the monarchical dynasties, by whose order a porcelain began producing in their countries are presented there. The exhibition is a peculiar context, in which both the organized and the individual visitor can be interested in.
Moreover, people from Petrozavodsk took part in the exhibition. They gave for the exhibit the porcelain items made by the well-known Lomonosov porcelain factory.
